Do you sell your digital images? 4. Do you shoot formal shots of the wedding party and family? Answers1. Do you photograph using film or digital capture? I photograph using digital capture. Digital photgraphy provides me the flexibility to capture spontaneous events. It also allows me to experiment and go beyond the limitation of photographing with film. Life occurs unexpectedly. It doesn't wait for changing film or switching from black and white to color, etc. Would you want me to miss when the little ring bearer couldn't wait to taste the wedding cake and stuck his hand in the frosting? Are you still unsure about digital vs. film? I invite you to come and view my work in person before you make your decision. Back to top >> 2. How many images do you shoot and how many would we receive? With digital capture, photographers have the capacity to get a large quantity of images. However with that said, large numbers don't necessarily equate to high quality. Remember the saying "Even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then." In other words, if you shoot enough, you are bound to come out with a few good images. Back to top >> 3. Some film photographers offer their negatives for sale. Do you sell your digital images? I offer both digital "negatives" (or proofs) and digital "reprints." What is the distinction? My definition of a digital negative is that it is similar to a film negative only slightly better. A digital negative is already corrected for exposure. Sometimes film negatives can be over or under exposed and would need correcting in a darkroom or by a lab technician. Digital "negatives" are available for wedding packages only. They are for clients wanting to archive their wedding images, produce their own wedding book, and/or give out that single image of Uncle Sam doing the conga with Aunt Gladys as a gift to them. For the bride and groom shots or the family images where you wish for these to be keepsakes and/or in a larger print size - reprints and digital reprints are available. Like all reprints, a digital reprint is retouched, meaning it is dust spotted, enhanced to remove blemishes, stray hairs, lighten dark circles under eyes, slightly whiten teeth, etc. But don't get any wild ideas like making someone look 20 pounds thinner or changing a blonde into a redhead. The key work is subtle and not extreme make over. A CD contains a large sized file suitable for printing a 5x7 print and a small sized file for attaching to emails or posting on a website. Back to top >> 4. Do you shoot formal shots of the wedding party and family? There are a few factors to consider for this particular matter, whether the bride and groom wish to see each other or not before the ceremony, how many different shots of the wedding party and family members will there be, how much time does the couple wish to have after the ceremony before joining their guests at the reception, etc. These logistics are worked out with the couple before the day of the event.
